Represent Scotland

The Cadet and Junior Commonwealth Championships will take place in Christchurch, New Zealand 12th - 19th July 2024.

Scottish Fencing are looking at plans to support fencers and teams to travel to New Zealand. The event will have significant costs with flights costing approximately £1500-2000 and estimated costs for accommodation around £75 per night. Please note these are estimates for indicative purposes only. Scottish Fencing are currently exploring funding options to support the event.

The selection of fencers and teams will be announced on Friday 2nd February 2024.

Declaration of Interest

To be considered for selection, athletes must complete the Scottish Fencing declaration of interest form by Sunday 7th January 2024. Completing this form indicates that you meet the eligibility criteria and would like to be considered for selection.

NB: Only athletes who have completed the form will be considered for selection.

Weapon Advisors to selection panel

We are seeking one weapon advisor for each weapon to provide information and advice to the selection panel. The advisor will be expected to declare any conflicts of interest prior to the selection. The advisors will not receive a vote. If you would like to volunteer to be a weapon advisor, please email clare.queen@scottish-fencing.com by noon on Friday 15th December 2023.

Important Information and documents

Athletes who do not hold a UK passport; are relying on a residence qualification; or have previously represented another nation may require a dispensation from the Commonwealth Fencing Federation.  Such athletes should make their circumstances known to Scottish Fencing as soon as possible by contacting admin@scottish-fencing.com
