Referee Advisory Group Strategists

Do you want fencing in Scotland to continue to grow and improve?

Do you want competitions in Scotland underpinned by high quality refereeing?

If the answer to these questions is YES, then we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Scottish Fencing recognise that the development of a clear Referee Pathway is essential to the continued growth and development of our sport. To support the development of this pathway, we are looking for two volunteer strategists to join the new Referee Advisory Group (RAG).

The Referee Advisory Group will meet 2 – 3 times per year to discuss all issues relating to the refereeing of fencing, identify areas for development and support the Club Development Manager and volunteer Referee Education Manager to grow and strengthen the number of qualified referees in Scotland.

ROLE OF THE REFEREE ADVISORY GROUP

  • Support Scottish Fencing to develop and maintain a transparent Refereeing Pathway.
  • Increase the number & quality of Referee & Referee Educators in Scotland.
  • Organise & deliver Refereeing courses for Scottish Fencing.

REFEREE ADVISORY GROUP STRATEGISTS WILL:

  • Commit to 2 – 3 meetings per year.
  • Be passionate about refereeing and the development of fencing in Scotland.
  • Act in the best interest of Scottish Fencing.
