Vacancy - Club Development Officer (part-time)

Contract:            Fixed term contract to 31 March 2018, with the possibility of annual renewal

Salary:               in the range 23k – 28k (11.5k -14k based on 18.75 hours a week)

Scottish Fencing has developed, and is now implementing, a club accreditation system (Swordmark). Scottish Fencing are now looking to recruit a second part-time Club Development Officer to work with our clubs to ensure they have the governance policies and processes in place to achieve Scottish Fencing’s Swordmark accreditation.

One of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from our 2017-2018 strategy is to have two clubs at the highest standard by early 2018. The second and equally important KPI is to have 1,040 members by early 2018. Scottish Fencing is looking for someone who can, from the outset, engineer the programmes and initiatives which will enable our network of clubs to strengthen by attracting and retaining new members.

Developing programmes to upskill Scottish Fencing’s volunteers; our coaches, referees, team managers and club officials and building link with the communities that surround our clubs are also key to the role.

This position will require someone who has a sound knowledge of club development combined with experience of evaluating and accrediting governance systems. The successful candidate will need to be personable, approachable and a good networker building relations across Scottish Fencing and all its partners.

As Club Development Officer (CDO) you will receive direction from the Chief Operating Officer and work alongside Scottish Fencing’s other part-time CDO and Administrator; however, we also expect you to be motivated and capable of working independently. This role will suit someone who enjoys meeting and supporting others, is self-motivated and keen to achieve.
